Co-Ed Liberty Bell to Sheridan Crosscut / Hike. **Member + Co-Ed Guest**
About this event
**Registration Opens 7/16/25 at 8AM MT**
New this year, the Co-Ed Liberty Bell to Sheridan Crosscut / Loop hike. This hike is for strong, advanced hikers only. This is a very challenging 6 mile, 3,000 vertical hike up that starts in the town of Telluride. We’ll head up the eastern side of Jud Weibe to the Liberty Bell trailhead (where the miners used to play baseball). From there we continue up on a very steep trail through the forest along a creek for 2 ½ hours, sustaining a slow steady hard-breathing pace, and see mining building ruins.
We finally reach liberty bell basin at 12,000 ft where we will have our own lunches surrounded by breathtaking views. Next we continue up again for about 30 min. across the basin and connect to the Sheridan Crosscut trail (which disappears for a short while) and then crosses Owl Gulch then goes down along the ridge of Royer Gulch.
It is quite steep going down and we will be on our bottoms for a short section. We will have incredible open views of Tomboy, Bridal Veil, Bear Creek and town. Well behaved strong dogs are welcome (bring a leash). Bring 3-4 water bottles for you and your pup, a raincoat, your own lunch, solid hiking shoes, poles (trail can get slick) and sunscreen.
Total Hiking Time will be around 6 hours.
