**Special Sunday Majongg lesson on June 2nd at the Sheridan Opera Bar due to a Wild West Fest event at the Opera Bar on Monday June 3rd.**
Have you every wanted to learn how to play mahjongg - a tile based game developed in China in the 19th century but updated in the US with the annual Mahjongg card. Every 2nd Monday of the month there are 8 spots for beginners to learn how to play. This service is complimentary. Every Monday at the Sheridan Show Bar there are games for those who are already proficient. The fee for those who already know how to play is $15 per Monday or $100 per seasonal play or $180 for a yearly membership. Our own TWN member, Janie Goldberg has been hosting mahjongg at the Sheridan Show Bar here in Telluride for over 20 years. Come out and join a fun evening of meeting new people, learning a new game and laughing a lot. Bring along a small purse with $7 worth of quarters (your pischke). Summer is on its way and it is time to play Golf?? Let’s have a fun afternoon playing five holes of Golf a 4pm. We will have four groups of four Ladies each. Teams and tee times will be assigned by Sunday June 9th. After golf we will enjoy a cocktail together (cash bar) in the TelSki Lounge with small bites. We will have two competitions: longest drive on hole #1 and closest to the hole on hole #3. This is always a fun event. Basic golf skills are required. There is no fee for Telluride Ski and Golf Club Members and a $30 greens fee for non-Members to be paid directly to the ProShop upon arrival. After a great winter season with plenty of snow it is time to join Telluride Outside for their Lower San Miguel River half day rafting trip. This trip launches just thirty minutes downstream from Telluride at Specie Creek and runs 9 miles to the Beaver Creek river access. This section features class II-III whitewater, ideal for beginner and intermediate rafters. The $127 fee covers a half day of guided rafting, wet suits, river boots, spray tops, PFDs and helmets for all participants, as well as transportation from Mountain Village to and from the river. A tip for the guide ($25) is greatly appreciated at the end of the trip. Bring a swimsuit or shorts, snug fitting sun protective shirt, sunglasses with retainers and a dry shirt for post trip. Avoid wearing heavy cotton like jeans and sweatshirts. We will meet at 8am at the Market in Mountain Village and return from the river around noon to the Mtn Village Mkt - depending on how fast the river is flowing. This is always a fun experience in June.

Hike and Lunch. Join us at a members home at 8:30 am in Illium Valley for a MODERATE 4 1/2 mile roundtrip hike to a waterfall on the historic Galloping Goose train path off of Sunshine Mesa Road.

It’s a lovely hike with stunning views. Bring poles, HAT, water - whatever you need for a hike. This was once the Galloping Goose train route so the elevation gain is only about 600 feet. Walking sticks are suggested.

Plan to meet at the member’s home at 8:30 am. and we’ll drive together up to the trailhead for our hike and then end up back at her home for a light lunch and refreshments.
Directions will be sent to registrants.
